my baked layer cake

My first baked layer cake

I don't know where I keep my 1st batch layer cake pics. Sayang. I remember that my mama tried my 1st batch layer cake. Her comment is 'Not nice! Not nice!' But the funny thing is.. she keep on eating one after one piece while commenting my failure cake. :D Funny hor.

As usual, bappy wanted to finish my terrible-tasted layer cake. :P. I feel uncomfortable and not willing to see him finish that horrible cake. I feel the cake is not edible lor. So end up, I throw the rest of the cake away before he finish them all and I promised to bake a better cake for him next time.

My second baked layer cake

The following pics were my 2nd time to bake layer cake. Still a failure but not 100% failure. It doesn't tasted 'kuih-ish' compare to my 1st time. Hahaha! I think I will bake my next layer cake after I get my new oven.

This time, the cake tasted better compare to my first batch one. End up I don't have enough cake to share with my mama side. Agnes and bappy like the cake. Glad to see them finishing my bakings that time.

- can u see the layers? -

- While bappy try to take the picture, I took the piece of cake in the middle of the picture. So.. the pic looks no focus. Haha! -

Hope I can bake a nice layer cake for them, both families, soon.

2 weeks to go...

gou gou is coming in 2 weeks time or less!

egg tart

Few weeks back, I baked total of 16 egg tarts for my both family. Have been such a long time didn't bake egg tarts for them. My mummy and brothers miss my baking. So, I bake some egg tarts before I'm on my confinement soon.

- freshly baked egg tart -

Everyone enjoyed my egg tarts except me. Because I should not take sweet food. It's totally okay for me. I enjoy baking and family enjoy my bakings.

I almost forgotten to take the pic of my lovely egg tart. Luckily there is still one egg tart left on my dining table. So, I quickly snap one for my memory lane. :)

There was some egg tart filling left. I didn't know what should I do with it. I didn't want to bake another batch next day so I steamed the rest of the filling for dinner. :P Ish... can you imagine the taste? wuahahaha! It tasted so sweet and weird with rice. Bappy doesn't like it but he finished it all in the end. :D See, how could I stop baking since I have such great supporter. I want to bake more for him ...

The Saturday dinner

Last Saturday, bappy brought B and I for a nice buffet dinner at Riverbank restaurant, Hilton. We reached there at about 6:40pm. Yummy Yummy!

There are ranges of food but I didn't remember all the names. I just enjoy the food. wohoho! I took corn soup, salad, fishes, chicken, beef, steamed eggs, seafood and some sushi. I can't take most of the sushi food. Preggie only take fully cooked food mah. And I can't take much dessert also. It's very sweet for me. There are different types of dessert and cakes there. So lovely and looked so rich! Really makes my mouth watering when I start think of it now. Bappy allowed me to try some of the dessert that night. Actually he is forced to give the permission. wuahahhaa! :) So happy! I took small piece of tiramisu, small piece of baked cheese cake and few bites of almond peach tart. keke! alot or not? I don't think so .. :P Yea.. I only remember those sweet stuff names.

- one of the bappy's hunt, sushi-

- one of B's great hunt, ice cream -

- her ice cream -

B enjoyed her ice cream the most. She carried the ice cream everywhere she goes around the restaurant. She even approached the ice cream corner and wait for the uncle to refill her ice cream. aiyo! She finished 1 scoop of strawberry ice cream and 1 1/2 scoop of vanilla ice cream that night. Usually she doesn't take so much ice cream at a time as I don't allow her to. But for that special dinner, I just made an exception night for her, let her enjoy her ice cream buffet. :D

Overall, we enjoyed the dinner very much. We all full and happy... but I still not willing to leave the restaurant that soon :P... leaving those nice food behind me... :)

During the dinner, I suddenly recalled that day - 18 November, was a memorable day. It was the day Bappy and I flew to Singapore to look for job 6 years ago... It was our very first time to fly overseas ourselves and that was the starting of our great adventure life story... right bappy? Few flashes of sweet memories played in my mind during the dinner. That night, I was so glad to have the dinner with bappy as a family and don't forget... with our little B too. :)

So happy....

my Saturday feeling

I take a leave today. No working day for me. Hehe.. :) There is nothing special today. I just plan to rest and relax at home. Just do what I like to do.

This morning, bappy and I went to Mdm Tang cafe at Petanak to have breakfast. It was a nice and peaceful breakfast I have. Haha! My little B goes to her playschool for activities. We ordered laksa and beef noodle. The laksa tastes so-so only but it comes in big bowl. As for beef noodle, it was so yummy but it's little. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast very much. :)

Tonight, my dream will come true. :) My dream to have a nice and special dinner wh bappy and B to welcome our new member next month. I'll snap some pics for my memory lane. I'm so happy when I start think about tonight's dinner. pray* pray* Hopefully my little bb inside me let me have my pretty dinner first har..

Oh dear... I just have 18 or 20 days to go. A new family member is joining us. :) .. who har..? who har?? Bappy not yet think a name for the bb but we got a nickname for the bb - 'gou gou' (in mandarin, it means doggie). Hehe.

Hm... wonder what will be my sign and when will my sign comes.. okay okay lar.. don't think too much. :D Just wait for the time...

her first time...

Yesterday night... when we were in the living room...

me: B.. B.. see.. there is a mosquito flying in front of you...

Softly... with her both little hands... she tried her best to catch the flying mosquito in front of her.. then with a small clap sounds...*clap*... the mosquito dropped onto the floor just infront of her. The mosquito stop moving on the floor. B gets excited to find herself 'killed' a mosquito herself. She smiled and look at me. Showing me she finally beat a flying mosquito herself. She is so happy and proud of herself. I think the mosquito is just 'fainted'. After that, B pick it up with a piece of tissue paper and throw it into the dustbin.

For record,

13 November 2006, she 'killed' her very first flying mosquito in her life. :)

Hooray! :D

mouse trap 3

Yesterday night, bappy set up another mouse trap with the stink glue again. Hoping the big mouse will be trapped this time. As usual, B gets excited and sit aside watching her bappy setting up the mouse trap. :)

The next morning about 5am, bappy and I went to washroom and checked the mouse trap if any mouse trapped.

- gotcha! the big mouse! -

This morning, B woke up very quickly once we told her the 'big' news. (It's a big news for a little child like her) :D She then goes out excitedly to see the mouse. Haha!

mouse trap 2

This time, ah gong bought a can of rat glue to trap the mouse.

- very stink and sticky rat glue -

Bappy helped to set up the mouse trap. He poured and levelled the glue on a piece of cardboard. Argh! The glue so stink! B enjoy watching her bappy making mouse trap. Yea, she is the most excited when setting up this. Catch Mouse! Catch Mouse!

- bappy at work -

After that, bappy put few pieces of bread on the glue. Ah Gong added some banana. And.. erm.. the lizard... don't know how it got trapped itself that fast!

- that's it! supper for the mouse -

B is the most excited about when is the mouse will be trapped. We stayed in our bedroom and wait. That was about 10pm. We left the living room and kitchen in dark. We believed that mouse will be out for food hunting anytime soon.

That night about 10:30pm, B was very excited. She waited excitedly and was hoping to see a mouse trapped. She refused to sleep. So, we all went to have a peep on the mouse trap before we sleep. Yea, that's what we agreed.

- gotcha! -

A small mouse trapped! Yea... another small mouse. Eee... wonder how many small mouse in da house. *biting nails*

Until next morning, we see no other mouse trapped. The big mouse is still somewhere in da house.

mouse trap

Recently, we find out there are mouses mice hide somewhere in our house. Don't know how many are they but bappy saw one large mouse one night. So, we set up a mouse trap before sleep to catch them.

The mouse trap is a piece of cardboard with very sticky glue. B felt excited but scared when bappy explain to her about the mouse trap. She get excited about we are trying to catch mouse. But she so scared the big mouse will bite one of us. Funny gal. :)

Next morning, we found 2 small mouses mice caught in our trap! B get excited when seeing them struggling on the glue. She had no fear to those mouses mice as the mouses mice cannot run from the mouse trap! Yea, that's wat she told me. Hahhaa! B also told me she wanted to feed them with crackers. She said the mouses mice have nothing to eat. Aiyoyo!

Yesterday night, we set up the trap again. Hopefully can catch the big mouse this time.

This morning, we found out we caught nothing but a lizard. Poor stupid lizard got stuck on the mouse glue... and B watched it with doubts.

B: mummy mummy.... why the mouse looks like a lizard?

HAHAHHAHAA!!!! Oh my Funny gal!
me: oh dear, it is not a mouse. It is a lizard.

B: Huh?! so it's a lizard! Why the lizard stuck on the mouse glue?

me: that lizard naughty so it gets caught lor...

another day...

Well well, another day in office. :)

I had difficulties to fall asleep yesterday night. Not because I hate Monday lar.. Maybe I rest too much in daytime last Saturday and Sunday. Yea, I didn't bake or cook anything special last weekend. I was thought of going out for window shopping, go to book store, or enjoy special food and drinks in the city... Just feel want to enjoy life with bappy and B. But... bappy sick and B just recovered. Hm... so I rest at home with them lor...

not like other normal days... today, I feel I get tired easily... I started to get exhausted after walked for a distance. Hm... did I rest too much last weekend? I think I should take more exercise from now. Better continue my exercise of 'climbing staircase' that I always do. Hope it helps to improve my stamina. I stopped the exercise for almost a month! How lazy me. :P

When will the day comes?

31 days to go ... ...
